Clarence T. Brown

Executive Director

Clarence is the Founder of Pre-College University (PCU) and its predecessor On Your Purpose, Inc. For nearly the past two decades, Clarence has applied his influence and access to mentor youth and young adults in achieving success by discovering and operating in their purpose. He began in 1996 by developing a high school career preparatory program, EXPOSE and the Maximum Exposure College Tour in Cincinnati, OH. After leaving OH, Clarence worked with undergraduate students at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, and then on to recruit graduate students for the College of Arts and Sciences at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. In 2004, Clarence relocated to Fairfax, VA to join the UNCF Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP), where he became Director of Programs responsible for building an online community for college students and faculty. During his time working with students from high school to graduate school, Clarence began to notice an alarming trend – a generation of young adults who where were ill-prepared to take advantage of valuable opportunities or to traverse the career ladder. As a result, Clarence created Pre-College University to provide the supplemental programming necessary to fill the void. Through PCU, Clarence continues to influence the lives of youth and young adults during their academic, professional, and even personal journey through life.  Clarence is the author of four books (Striving to be the Authentic Me, Radical Introductions: Beginning By Going Backwards, Blogs from the Outer Space, Raising a Radical Child), and travels the country speaking and training adults in the areas of personal and professional development.
