Hawa Barry

My name is Hawa Barry. I am from New York City and currently enrolled at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. I am a senior majoring in Environmental Engineering. I am a Founder’s Scholarship recipient and possess a 3.60 GPA. My goal as an environmental engineer is to establish a successful career in solid and hazardous waste management. I would like to work for different companies, aiming to properly dispose of waste to ensure the safety and protection of people and the environment. I pursued this major due to my fondness for maintaining a healthy planet and potential changes environmentally that I would like to see and be a part of back home in West Africa. One day I hope to use my engineering expertise to assist and benefit my community and others back home. A quick fun fact about me is that I am bilingual.
